Effortlessly Stop Cravings For Junk While On A Green Smoothie Diet
I wish to start off by telling you that the contents of this article simply my opinion based on data I have read from expert authors and from the 10+ years eating and living the way I have on a daily basis. Also, with my twice a year blood work that indicates zero deficiencies, I feel that this information is very valuable. It could be that it works just for me, my genetic makeup and my body type, I can’t say for sure. But, just like smoking cigarettes will certainly have an affect on each of us with varying degrees of health negatives, eating green smoothies, I believe, could probably have an affect on each of us with varying degrees of health positives. Try it for yourself, after talking about it with a naturopath or other doctor initially of course.
The body is supposed to be equipped to heal naturally right? With all the sick people, that doesn’t seem like the case does it? Perhaps it is in inaccurate statement that the body is truly designed to heal itself? No! The predicament is that people a) do not supply the body with the appropriate amount of tools, usually by way of diet, it needs to heal itself and b) we bombard it with junk that hinders the functionality of the limited number of essential resources that we do supply it.
I’m a big advocate of the raw food lifestyle. The suggestion that heating food above a specific temperature destroying required enzymes that are significant to digestion makes sense to me. Beyond that, it is implied that to get the most out of our foods we should chew it until it’s gone. We have troubles digesting big morsels of food. Also, I feel that people can survive off of a diet of primarily fruits and greens, with the occasional healthy fats. In regards to healthy fats, avocados, soaked nuts and seeds is all I generally consume.
My main meals every single day are comprised of plenty of raw fruits and green veggies in the form of green smoothies. Smoothies, being essentially liquefied, my body does a great job of assimilating the nutrients.
A huge hurdle for some people when changing diets, and a huge one for myself is coping with cravings for bad foods. Like a person that has addiction to drugs or alcohol must detoxify so they can heal, we essentially have to do the same thing. Our cells are comprised of stuff from foods that we have consumed in the past. The body generally craves more of the same unhealthy foods that contribute to the contents of the individual cells in our bodies. For drug detoxes, often times, dry sauna therapy is used to sweat the drugs out of the system. This usually helps to eliminate the physical cravings for the drug allowing the person an improved chance of remaining sober. For us, improving our eating may very well influence the elimination of toxic foods as well which can be quickly removed in our poop, perspiration and maybe urine as well. But, we may still having cravings for those foods while some of the contaminants in our cells are still there.
I, myself, have found that right away after having the first swallow of my green smoothie my own cravings for grease, meat, salt, etc began to calm. After I was finished drinking the smoothie, the unhealthy cravings were gone completely and I’d be content. The problem then was that the cravings would come back as I grew hungry. So I started to make sure I was on top of it and would have another green smoothie ready before the cravings would reoccur, or not too long after they began. The unhealthy cravings in the end subsided for good as I cleaned out my body. Suddenly I began to crave greens instead!
